A PERVERT convicted of sending indecent messages to children is back behind bars after being caught with two mobile phones.

Jamie Cunningham, formerly of Maxwell Green in Irvine, was convicted in 2015 of sending a string of lewd Facebook messages to two girls, aged just 11 and 12.

At the time he avoided a jail sentence but was freed with a list of conditions.

Last week the 27-year-old found himself in the dock again after being caught with an extra mobile phone.

Under the terms of his Sexual Prevention Order, Cunningham, now of Townhead Street in Dalry, is prohibited from owning or possessing more than one mobile phone, laptop, pc or otherwise.

However Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard Cunningham was caught with two phones in his possession at his home in Dalry and elsewhere in North Ayrshire on August 28 this year.

Back in April 2015 Cunningham was placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for three years and given a supervision order as a direct alternative to jail.

He was told he must not directly or indirectly contact any child under 16 unless supervised by someone over 21.

However since then he as found himself back in the dock numerous times for breaching the very order which kept him out of prison.

In August 2015 Cunningham was jailed for six months after being caught with two mobile phones.

He was released shortly afterwards but was back behind bars in November that same year after he admitted having contact with a 10-month-old baby.

Cunningham was sentenced to seven months imprisonment for the latest breach.
