THE results of the recent traffic survey for Saltcoats town centre have been presented to the council.
And there are various options on the table for moving forward to improve safety within Saltcoats.
A total of 267 hard copies and 233 online responses were submitted.
Councillor Jean McClung, SNP Councillor for the Saltcoats Ward, told the Herald: “I arranged a meeting with representatives from the Roads Department, Police Scotland Traffic Division and Saltcoats Community Council, at which responses to the survey were discussed at some length.
“Various options for improving traffic flow in Saltcoats town centre were put forward. At the forefront of the discussions was the issue of public safety. Among the proposals was the imposition of a time limit on parking in Dockhead Street by blue badge holders.”
The findings will now be analysed by Police and NAC Roads Department.
