EXCITEMENT is in the air for Ardrossan acoustic singer/songwriter Franklyn as she prepares to introduce her new album “Plaid” just in time for Christmas.

It is the result of hard work in a Glasgow studio with the launch date taking place on December 13.

She said: “I’m really excited to get this album out. Most of these songs have been part of my growing set over the last few years and it’s been great to commit them to this record for a wider audience to hear.”

Franklyn, better known as Frances Grier, has been wooing audiences up and down the country with her inspiring lyrics and angelic voice. Her love for music is such that she was instrumental in helping the popular open mic sessions at Costa Coffee in Saltcoats.

Franklyn’s first album “Hold On” was a sell-out, and it was by popular demand that she decided to produce “Plaid”.

She added: “Not all songs will be familiar to followers though, with a new song Na Tri Bailtean (The Three Towns) being penned justfor this album in a nod to my love of Scottish music.”

Also being launched is her second YouTube video “Dream”, filmed on location at scenic Castle Hill with the help of Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society.

Kristoffer McKenna, owner of Ratworks Studio, filmed and produced the music video, and album artwork was produced in partnership with photographer Katarina Kositzki.

You can find the new album on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon music and all good streaming sights by sear ching Franklyn, Plaid.
