1 Love, smoke and dreams ... The mighty Hipsway are playing the Barrowland on Thursday. The coolest of all the Glasgow bands, who formed from band members of Love & Money, Del Amitri and Texas, return to the home of hip. 2 Set yourself free and turn up the power. This sounds beyond weird but 90s techno legends N-Trance are hitting the decks and stage at the Mecca bingo in Paisley! 3 Still in Party Central Paisley, the Winterfest opens tomorrow with a big wheel, the ice rink, a fire pit for smores, actual REAL reindeers and most importantly a Nutella House. Paisley getting it right again and again. Open every day from now until Hogmanay.
4 We’re walking in the air … The RSNO are at the Usher Hall performing The Snowman and carols old and new, with mince pies and mulled wine. This Friday at 7.30pm. Tickets are from £19 and available at www.rsno.org.uk/concert
5 Bad Girl Bakery, the street food sensation, slides into Inverness in its sleek, stylish airstream home, finding a temporary home at Falcon Square with other foodie successes. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Goodies galore.
6 Be spooked … a scary Christmas Carol walk through Monikie Woods near Dundee. Take a guided walk through the dark spooky woods as we tell the tale of cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge and his terrifying visits from three Christmas ghosts. Dress warmly, bring a torch and be prepared to be terrified. This is a family friendly event, suitable for all ages. The walk will last approximately one hour. 7 Baba Yaga at Govanhill baths. Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week at 7.30pm, some last-minute tickets are still available for this spooky and innovative show at the baths. Who is Baba Yaga? The evil wicked witch of old Russian fairy tales, who lives deep in a hut in the forest that moves around on giant chicken legs. The heroine Vasilisa must outwit Baba Yaga to win the day and ensure the sun will rise again. Tickets £3 from www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3659232
