THE Ladies Lunch Club, held in aid ofthe Ayrshire Hospice, helped to fund a new spa bathroom for patients.

The bathroom, at the hospice’s in-patient unit in Ayr, provides a relaxed and therapeutic atmosphere with modern facilities and accessories.

This helps the team to deliver a personalised level of care and support for patients.

Margaret Cook, joint chairperson of the Ladies Lunch Club, said: “The committee were very impressed by the refurbished bathroom and the obvious benefit patients will get from using it. The nurses are delighted with the use it has had already and look forward to many more patiets enjoying the facility.”

The Ladies Lunch Club committee is appealing to ladies across Ayrshire to join the hospice Ladies Lunch Club in the new year so that they can continue their excellent fundraising success. The club me et s on a monthly basis on the third Wednesday ofthe month from September to June at Western House Hotel in Ayr.

There is an annual membership fee of £10 and supporters receive a delicious two course lunch at the cost of £16 per month.

The ladies come from across Ayrshire including Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Dundonald and as far as Kilmarnock and Irvine. Lyn Bateman, senior fundraising officer at the Ayrshire Hospice, said: “The Ladies Lunch Club has been in existence for over 29 years and raised well over £264,000 during this time.

“The hard work and time given by the club committee is never taken for granted and we are extremely fortunate to have such a loyal base of supporters. We’d love new members to join.”
