MYSTERY still surrounds the death of a Kilwinning dad whose body was found four days after he vanished.

Police say they are still investigating how tragic Bryan Kirk died after his body was found in the Dalgarven area of the town. So far post mortem results have proved ‘inconclusive’.

The 38-year-old vanished on Boxing Day after leaving the house at around 12.30pm, telling friends and family he was ‘going to a party’.

His body was found on the morning of December 30 after four days of desperate searching.

Despite extensive tests, police say his death is still being treated as ‘unexplained’ and further tests are being carried out after the post mortem failed to prove exactly how he died.

Tributes to the popular dad-of-two - known as ‘Kirky’ - have been flooding his social media page , led by his two daughters Brogan, 17 and 13-year-old Tiegyn who have been left devastated by his death.

Writing on her Facebook page, Tiegyn said: “Me and Brogan would just like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support of my dad’s passing. Everyone has been so helpful and supportive through this and it means more than you’ll all ever know. We love and miss you so much dad, you will never be forgotten. Always in our hearts.”

Another friend K Alsam has set up a Go Fund Me page in a bid to help Bryan’s family deal with life without him.

So far the page has raised £1,750. Mr Aslam says: “He was a loving father and son and as we love him, we love his family. We are setting up this fund so that the family have less of a burden of life without him. We can never bring him back but we can support those around him.”

Bryan’s friends and family had arranged a balloon release to remember Bryan on January 18, however it has been postponed until after he has been laid to rest.
