GENEROUS council staff spread some extra festive cheer by donating gifts for children who attended school holiday meals sessions on Christmas Eve.

Their kind donations led to a total of 250 gifts being collected, ensuring that every child who attended one of the Christmas Eve sessions had a gift to take home.

Provost Ian Clarkson said: “I would like to thank all of the staff who have embraced the spirit of giving and handed in gifts for this wonderful cause.

“Christmas should be a magical time for every child, and we are pleased that we could make the first day of the school holiday meals programme that little bit more special for the children attending.”

The free school holiday meals and activity programme provides primary school children with a nutritious meal and an hour of physical activity each day, allowing them to catch up with their friends and keep active.
