A MAN was found dead within a property yesterday (Wednesday) in Ardrossan's Barr Street.
Shortly before 5pm police and ambulance services were called to the house where the body of a 51-year-old man was found.
His death is being treated as unexplained but it is not thought to be suspicious.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police Scotland can confirm that about 4.56pm on Wednesday, January 9 we were contacted by the Ambulance Service regarding the sudden death of a 51-year-old man within a property in Barr Street, Ardrossan.
"Officers attended the property - the death is currently being treated as unexplained and is not believed to be suspicious.
"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the circumstances of the death and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
