GENEROUS patrons from an Ardrossan pub showed real community spirit over the festive period as they raised £1,500 through a raffle.
The annual event, organised by Billy and Molly Woods of Charlie’s Bar, saw £500 going towards James McFarlane School and the other £1,000 used to purchase a defibrillator for the community.
Billy Woods said: “To all the patrons of Charlie’s Bar who donated to and participated in the Christmas fundraising raffle. Once again your generous response has been both gratifying and humbling.
“The sum raised was £1,460, rounded up to £1,500. This has enabled us to buy a defibrillator which will be available to patrons and the local community, with the remaining £500 being donated to James McFarlane School.
“From myself, Molly and all the staff thank you for your heart warming contributions.”
