MSPs have overwhelmingly backed the Scottish Government after a debate on city region and regional growth deals.

A government motion, which said these were "important catalysts" in driving economic growth across Scotland and challenged the UK Government to provide an additional £388 million to match its investment, was passed by 80 votes to 33.

A Labour amendment calling for the Glasgow City Region Deal's "flagship" airport rail link scheme to be "progressed as a matter of urgency", was unanimously approved.

A Scottish Conservative amendment, which stressed the "people of Scotland are best served when its two governments engage in a collaborative and cooperative manner to deliver sustained future investment" failed to pass.
