THE self-styled ‘world’s favourite litter picker’ became a millionaire again recently - this time in Stevenston.
Ian Cassidy is an intrepid litter collector and is a familiar face in Stevenston as he cleans up at the beach almost every day, so much so that he has now picked up over one million pieces of litter from the beach alone.
We previously reported how Ian became a millionaire for picking up litter throughout the local area but now his efforts just at Stevenston have breached the million mark.
A delighted Ian told the Herald: “2018 was a fantastic year with so much achieved and 2019 is set to break even more ground.
“Yes another million milestone, but this time from Stevenston beach alone.
“But much more was achieved in 2018 with the launch of the ‘Nation’s Favourite Litter Picker’ award scheme which has really hit the mark with the small people who now chase down their medals, certificates and wrist band awards.”
