PLANS that will make travelling across the Garnock Valley easier and more affordable have moved closer.
At a meeting of North Ayrshire Council’s Cabinet, councillors agreed that £25,000 from the Community Investment Fund – a source of council funding that empowers towns and villages across North Ayrshire - should go towards the project.
The Moving Around Workgroup – a sub-group of the Garnock Valley Locality Partnership – will use the funding to undertake a Travel Needs Analysis.
This will establish what can be done to improve accessibility to employment, education, social and leisure activities and health services.
The research will look to find key gaps in provision and highlight any practical barriers to travel, such as cost, time or other constraints.
