AT Dalry Bowling Club Club’s recent annual general meeting, Peter Hutchison was elected Gent’s President with Jim Seaton as Gents Vice President.

Helen Reid was elected as Ladies President, with Janette Fairns as Ladies Vice President.

This year the Gents Opening day of the new season is on Saturday, April 13 with the Ladies opening on Sunday, April 14.

On Friday, February 8, the club held its 57th Burns supper, when the guests were entertained by the Garthland Cronies.

Piper William Boyle piped the Cronies to the top table, where they were introduced to the company by Dalry’s Gents President Peter Hutchison.

The haggis, “held aloft by club chairperson Anne Marie Finningan” was piped in and laid before Cronie Johnnie Mair, who did the “address” following which the supper, prepared by the ladies of the club was served.

Following the meal, Cronie Bill Davie took on the post of Interlocker (chairperson) for the evening and led his colleagues through the various songs, readings, and poems together with Piper William who played a selection of Scottish tunes.

At the end of the evening President Peter proposed a vote of thanks to The Cronies, Piper William, the ladies in the kitchen and bar for the delicious supper and service and to the members and guests for their support before closing the event.
