Pupils at St Bridget’s Primary in Kilbirnie enjoyed themselves at their Valentine’s discos, where they got creative with ‘hearts and crafts’.

The discos for the junior (P1-P3) kids and the senior (P4-P7) pupils both took place in the school hall last Thursday (February 14).

The fun parties were organised by the school’s parent council and encouraged the kids to get arty by holding a special decoration competition.

The children were asked to design their own hearts to decorate the school hall with. Prizes of Valentine-themed chocolates were given for the best in each class.

There were also dance prizes up for grabs, and hearty treats supplied by the parent council.

Elaine McTaggart, from St Bridget’s Primary School Parent Council, said: “Before the discos, all the classes decorated a paper heart which they used to decorate the hall.

“A prize was given to a heart from each class. There were also prizes for best boy and girl dancer.

“The prizes were chocolate love hearts, some Valentine’s fudge and chocolate lollipops.

“They had a great time.

“They usually come to school dressed for the disco, so they’re definitely in the disco mood on the day.”
