Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium in Dalry has donated £7,000 St Vincent’s Hospice.
This is the second major donation to local hospices that the new crematorium has made since opening in June of last year, bringing the total donated to £12,000.
The funds were raised through the new facility’s membership of a national metal recycling scheme.
The crematorium’s manager, Philip Ewing, said: “The £7,000 raised through the recycling scheme for St Vincent’s hospice will directly benefit the families it supports when they are facing a difficult time through bereavement.
“Our heart-felt thanks go to each and every family who consented to take part in the national scheme, without whom life-changing donations such as the one we are making today would not be possible.”
Carol-Anne Lamont, fundraising manager at St Vincent’s Hospice, thanked the crematorium staff, adding: “Every year we have to raise more than £1.1 million to offer the level of support that we do for the community.
“This simply wouldn’t be possible without donations like this, and we truly cannot thank Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium enough.
“Their generosity will make such a huge difference to patients and families all around the community at a time when they need it most.”
