Tots and parents took part in a sponsored toddle at West Kilbride Early Years Centre at the weekend.

The event raised funds to carry out a refurbishment at the centre in order for it to comply with new Scottish Government regulations.

The nursery, which rents the premises from North Ayrshire Council, needs to raise £45,000 to provide the additional facilities set out in the Care Inspectorate’s Space to Grow guidance.

Angela Pisani, early years manager at the centre, said: “It was fantastic. It was a lovely morning and the sun was shining. The children and parents were in great spirits. After the toddle we had a bake sale in the garden.

“A big thank you to all of our children and parents who took part and made donations of sponsor money and home baking. Also thank you to HOPE Homes, Seamill, who made a generous donation.”
