POLICE are on the hunt for youths who sprayed paint in the face of a 13-year-old girl in Saltcoats on Friday night.
In the town’s Vernon Street, youths were spray painting when the young girl challenged them about their behaviour.
Following this, the teenager was sprayed on the face and then hit with the can.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Officers based at Saltcoats Police Office are investigating the report of a 13-year-old girl having been sprayed with spray paint and hit to the face with a can after challenging a group of youths spray painting a nearby building.
“No medical treatment was required and officers are continuing local enquiries to identify the person responsible. Anyone with any information or any one who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact police by calling 101 quoting incident number 3942 of 29/03/19.”
