The Men’s Shed for the Three Towns has been awarded nearly £1000 from Asda.
Emma Ryan, community champion for the Asda Irvine store, was on hand to present the cheque to the group.
Donald McLarty, secretary of the Three Towns Men’s Shed, said that the money would be spent on the general running costs of the group with hopes to diversify the past times and crafts available to members.
The group is looking for new premises with the Focus Centre set to close but have been told by the council that they will find an alternative venue.
The Men’s Shed has received a strong response from the community since it launched last year.
Donald said: “We are very grateful to the community for their support and the number of tools that have been donated to keep us going.”
