SPIERS Care Home in Beith has donated £300 to two local bowling clubs.
Alison Rabandi, manager at Spiers, presented cheques to the presidents of Beith Bowling Club and Kilbirnie Bowling Club. The care home sponsors the two clubs in their annual Spiers tournaments.
A spokeswoman for Speirs Care Home said: “We have been doing this for a number of years and the club [Beith] runs the Spiers Cup competition which is scheduled to take place on August 10.
“It’s just a good way to support the local community – some of our residents and staff are or have been members of the club.
“Kilbirnie’s annual Spiers Open Pair Tournament, which is scheduled for August 24 this year, has been running for around six years now.”
