A member of the public has expressed his concern over a low-flying plane in Stevenston this afternoon.
David Patterson was standing at the barrier gates of the station when a white plane swooped over the tracks, seemingly from the shore area.
The plane, which had no identifying logos or writing on it, turned around and came back twice before heading toward Saltcoats.
David told the Herald: “It was weird. I wondered if maybe the pilot was in trouble or something.
“It was like one of those Ryanair ones – like a passenger plane – but there was no pictures or writing on it at all. It came down about three times really low. It just seemed really low down. It must have come near enough over the train line.
“It came from the shore towards me and backed round towards Saltcoats. That’s what was strange. That’s why I found it weird.
“It was three times it came over and then the third time there was landing lights on it. I’ve never seen a plane that close at Stevenston.”
