THE next meeting of Cunninghame Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) takes place in Kilbirnie this month.

Millions of women have seen their state pension age rise by up to six years with little or no notice of the accelerated changes. WASPI continue their fight for fair transitional arrangements to their state pension age.

According to the group, there are 31,000 less 1950s born women in the UK since 2016/17 who did not reach their state pension age.

The official local group’s next meeting will enable women from the surrounding areas to find out more about the national campaign and how to start the complaints process.

Head along to Bridgend Community Centre from 11am-1pm on Saturday, May 18. Contact cunninghamewaspi@ outlook.com for more information.
