Ayrshire Hospice receives £8,000 from the Clyde Cremotorium

This is the third major donation that the new crematorium has made to local hospices since opening last summer, bringing the total donated to an incredible £20,000

The funds have been raised through its membership of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management National Recycling of Metals Scheme, with the £8,000 donation officially presented to Ron Swanson of Ayrshire Hospice at the new crematorium located high-up in the stunning Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.

The Institute’s Recycling of Metals Scheme is a national initiative and works by sensitively recovering metals and orthopedic implants following cremation with the consent of bereaved families.

Philip Ewing, Manager of the Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium, said: “As professionals assisting the bereaved, we recognise the financial challenges that organisations supporting families at their most difficult and vulnerable time face. This £8,000 raised for Ayrshire Hospice will directly benefit the families they support.

“Our heart-felt thanks go to each and every family who consented to take part in the Institute’s national recycling scheme, without whom life-changing donations such as the one we are making today would not be possible.

“This is the third significant donation we have made to our local hospices since we opened in June, bringing the total raised to an incredible £20,000.00.
