A SALTCOATS woman celebrated a milestone birthday at the weekend as she turned 107.
Margaret Craig, who stays at Caledonia Care Home, was born Margaret Bain on June 1, 1912 at Kaimhill Farm, Bridge of Weir.
Margaret had six sisters and five brothers and she went to Bridge of Weir school before she left school at 14 to help on the family farm.
At 18 Margaret chose nursing and she was in the profession from 1931-1936. Margaret married Robert a farmer in 1937 and had tow sons and two daughters.
Margaret has been in Saltcoats for over 40 years now and has been a resident here at Caledonia Care Home for nearly nine years.
