NORTH Ayrshire Council have been forced to move a bin after the ‘rubbish’ placement of a new bus stop.

The new sign was erected earlier this year in Ardrossan’s Dalry Road but left the authority unable to open the bin for collection, leaving rubbish overflowing on to the grass and street.

Now the bin will be moved as SPT can’t move the bus stop sign.

The last time that North Ayrshire Council tried to empty the bin, they placed a green bag over the top of the receptacle and but this only remained in place for a couple of days before it was removed.

The council have been forced to act and sort the issue.

A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Council said: “The location of SPT’s new bus stop sign at Dalry Road, Ardrossan, is in an unfortunate position as it blocks access to the public bin.

“However, following discussion with SPT, we have agreed that the easiest solution would be for us to relocate the bin.

“We will therefore move the bin early next week.”
