A SALTCOATS cafe taking part in Dementia Awareness has helped a number of local businesses in raising awareness of the condition.
Last week, the Melbourne in Saltcoats held a a training session delivered in the café last night in advance of the awareness week.
The session was delivered by Linda McGuire, the local Alzheimer Scotland representative. Melbourne staff and some staff from local business joined us to be trained to be “Dementia Friends”.
The two aims this year are Research and Community. Elaine Meney, owner of the Melbourne, was joined by staff from some local business; Charles Alexander Hairdressers, Ruth Charlotte Photography and Christie-Lynn Fisher Financial Services Scotland Ltd.
Dementia Awareness Week takes place from June 3-9.
