Garnock Valley Allotment Association enjoyed a barbecue to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The Kilbirnie event was attended by Eglinton Growers, Three Towns Growers, council workers, Kenneth Gibson MSP, St Bridget’s Primary pupils and staff, and members of the public.
Jacki Bennett, treasurer at GVAA, said the event was “well attended” and that it was “nice to see visitors from other allotments in the area”, adding: “Despite the weather everyone had a good time and enjoyed burgers and sausages from J McGowan Butchers and a host of food, snacks and soft drinks kindly donated by the Co-op in Beith. Delicious cakes were baked by member Cath Macdonald.”
