Whitehirst Park pupils took part in some tree-planting at the school after a donation from North Ayrshire’s MP.

North Ayrshire and Arran MP Patricia Gibson praised the pupil’s commitment to the environment after joining pupils on Friday, June 7 after donating several to the school.

Patricia Gibson MP said “I was delighted to visit Whitehirst Park Primary in Kilwinning and to donate trees to their school.

“Previously I visited the school prior to hear all about the children’s work to develop their appreciation and understanding of looking after their local environment and applauded their work on the floor of the Commons.

“I have been most impressed by their knowledge and research into this important issue and was very pleased to donate these trees and have another opportunity to speak about these matters with them.

“These young people and their teachers are a credit to their town.”
