IT WAS convincing wins all round for the leagues current top four sides as rain failed to dampen the spirits of bowlers despite another team withdrawing from the competition.

Ardeer Rec made the tough decision to pull out of the league leaving just 10 teams vying for that top spot and a place in the challenge cup at the end of the season.

The pick of the ties on paper was the match-up between last year's winners West Kilbride and the surprise package from 2018 Dalry and Glengarnock.

But the league holders had other ideas and recorded a bonus point victory by 97 shots to just 59 to move further clear at the top of the league.

Second placed Kilwinning remained the only side with a 100 per cent record as they managed another convincing win, this time over struggling Kilbirnie BC by 95 shots to 76.

Saltcoats secured another bonus point win away from home to Largs BC by 91 shots to the hosts 49 which sees them jump to fourth place.

And the featured match that our photographer attended was Ardrossan BC at home to Largs Halkshill.

A tight affair until just after the half way stage when the home side turned up the heat and pulled away before sneaking a bonus point win by 31 shots (87-56) to move them to third in the table.
