A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital after a collision involving a car outside Ardrossan Academy this afternoon.
The incident, which occurred around 2.10pm this afternoon on Parkhouse Road, involved a car and a 14-year-old pupil at the school.
The boy has since been taken to hospital for assessment but a source told the Herald that it was not believed to be serious.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "About 2.10pm on June 24, police were alerted to a collision on Parkhouse Road, Ardrossan involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
"The Scottish Ambulance Service were requested to attend the scene and the 14-year-old boy has been taken to hospital for assessment. No criminality has been established."
