NORTH Ayrshire schools are set to close again next week and later this month due to ongoing industrial action.
Parents and carers are being advised to make arrangements for Tuesday, January 10 and Wednesday, January 11 with further school closures due to take place.
Strikes are also planned for Tuesday, January 17 as members of the EIS, Scottish Secondary Teachers Association, NASUWT and AHDS take action in the continuing dispute over pay.
Here's how schools in North Ayrshire will be affected throughout January:
Tuesday, January 10
All primary schools, Garnock Campus (primary) and Lockhart Campus will be closed but all secondary schools will be open as normal on this day.
All Early Years classes will be closed with the exception of the following classes and centres, which will be open as normal: Abbey Primary EYC; Annick Primary EYC; Ardeer Primary EYC; Beith Primary EYC; Caledonia Primary EYC; Castlepark EYC; Dalry EYC; Fairlie Primary EYC; Garnock CC EYC; Glencairn Primary EYC; Hayocks Primary EYC; Kilwinning EYC; Lamlash Primary EYC; Loudoun-Montgomery EYC; Largs EYC; Springside Primary EYC; Springvale EYC; St Bridget’s Primary EYC; St John Ogilvie Primary EYC; St Luke’s Primary EYC; St Peter’s Primary EYC; Stanley Primary EYC and Woodlands Primary EYC.
Wednesday, January 11
All secondary schools and Garnock Campus (secondary) will be closed.
There may also be disruption to some classes at Lockhart Campus and the head teacher will contact parents and carers with further information if this is the case.
All primary schools and Early Years Classes/Centres will be open as normal.
Tuesday, January 17
All schools will be closed, with only limited early years provision being open, involving the same classes and centres as outlined above for January 10.
A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Council said: “Children who are entitled to a free school meal can get a packed lunch on the days of strike action.
"Parents and carers can collect these from the child’s own school – or nearest school – between 11am and 1pm.
"If there are any changes to these arrangements parents and carers will be informed."
