DYKESMAINS Primary School in Saltcoats had a very well known visitor last week.
The school's primary seven class had photographer Charlie Gilmour pop his head in as part of the school's Developing the Young Workforce programme.
For a change that meant Charlie - who has been taking pictures for the Herald, and its sister titles in the Ayrshire Weekly Press group, for many years - wasn't visiting the school to take photographs.
But he did still manage to get one from his visit!
What he did do was talk to the children about a career in photography, and what that has been like for him.
The children came armed with plenty of questions, and it is fair to say that Charlie was impressed.
He told the Herald: "I had a great time - the kids were really interested and had some great questions.
"I might need to watch out in the future, because I might be competing for work with some of these guys!"
