IT WAS a far from purr-fect start to the day for one Saltcoats cat this morning, Thursday. June 8.
That is because the feline came into some trouble on the roof of a home in Glebe Street in the town.
After making its way onto the roof of one of the flats in the street, the poor pet became trapped over two stories up.
Unable to make its own way down, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews had to travel to the area to rescue the stranded animal.
Thankfully for the cat, after two teams arrived at the scene this morning, it was eventually helped to safety.
An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 8.18am on Thursday, June 8, to reports of a trapped animal in Saltcoats.
"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the town's Glebe Street, where firefighters rescued a cat which had become physically trapped upon a roof.
"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was safe."
