A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged break-in at a West Kilbride home.

The male was apprehended a short time after an incident on the village's Nethermiln Road.

Police officers say a property in the street was subject to a break-in shortly before 3am yesterday, Thursday, September 14.

A short time afterwards, the 57-year-old was arrested and charged in relation to the alleged incident.

He was due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on September 15 to face the charges for the first time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a break-in at a property at Nethermiln Road in West Kilbride around 2.55am on Thursday, September 14.

“A 57-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident a short time later He is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, September 15."
