CARRICK'S in Dalry has sat proudly in the heart of the town for around a century - but it is looking to the future with an impressive new look.
For the past 22 years, the Binning family have worked tirelessly to provide the best service and products to the community.
The ethos has always been to support local, from the products they offer to the customers they now call friends - and when the opportunity arose to improve what they had to offer, it was a no-brainer.
We were given a tour around the shop by Charanjit Binning, who alongside his mother and father - Inderjit and Harvinder - and brother Hardeep, own and operate Carrick's.
Over the past three months, work has been ongoing in a complete revamp of the store on Sharon Street.
The shop continued to operate while work was taking place, as they said they could not let the community go without for that extended period.
Following the purchase of the adjacent flat, Carrick's Premier Store has been extended and redesigned to a specification "far beyond their wildest imagination".
The new-look store opened up fully to the public earlier this month in what was described as "one of the best fitted stores in Scotland" - and it's hard to disagree.
Carrick's now has similar products on offer to that of a supermarket - though still provides that community, family feeling when you walk in the door.
With their stunning 'beer cave', new Browning's bakery section, and increased offering of chilled, frozen and ambient products it is hoped that the development keeps the shop at the heart of the community and providing exactly what locals need.
With a Costa machine to be fitted in the next couple of weeks, and Tango Ice Blast machine to follow, Carrick's could quickly turn into a must visit shop.
That being said, you of course do not NEED to visit the shop to enjoy everything it has to offer - with the store on Snappy Shopper meaning those in Dalry and the surrounding towns can order products for delivery at the press of a button.
This has allowed the shop to take on more members of staff as they look to meet the demand of the community they are so proud to serve.
And it was pride which resonated from Charanjit as he explained everything behind the decision to upgrade - including the widening of the aisles to ensure the shop is accessible for all.
"It's been some transformation," he said, "we’re very proud of what we have achieved in this store having served the local community since 2001.
"It really is the store of the future. We’ve given thought to every aspect in its design from being disabled access friendly to general layout and unique features like our bespoke alcohol area and refresh area."
