A POPULAR housing development in Saltcoats will soon be expanding in size.
It comes as developers Persimmon West Scotland completed the purchase of new land adjacent to their ongoing Arran View development in the town.
After striking a deal for the purchase the former Sharphill farm land, Persimmon will now be able to deliver a further 99 homes within the latest stage of their development.
The land, which already has detailed planning permission, will be brought to life by the homebuilder with the creation of a mixture of three and four-bedroom homes.
Previous stages of the Arran View development have already been completed, with 136 homes already provided.
The firm said these have been popular with buyers across the region - particularly first-time buyers and working age families.
The proposed house types - to be built upon this newly purchased land - are in keeping with the existing housing being built within Arran View.
Planning documents state that all of the proposed new homes would incorporate solar panels.
Craig Moore, Persimmon West Scotland land director, has shared his delight at now being able to press ahead with the expansion of the development.
He said: “We are delighted to have concluded the purchase of new land within Sharphill, which will lead to the third phase of our Arran View development.
“Arran View has proved popular with our customers, especially working-age families and first-time buyers.
“We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with North Ayrshire Council to help attract people to live and work in the area.”
More details on the development can be found in the Persimmon website.
