ARDROSSAN residents have urged others to be wary after a number of break-ins were reported in the town.
Several local residents reported concerns that someone had broken into their homes, or had tried to break in, during the early hours of Thursday, November 23.
Others said someone had also been trying to break into their vehicles around this time.
Many people took to social media to raise the alarm, urging others to be careful and to ensure their doors were locked.
The incidents appear to have been at homes close to and surrounding the Alpine Store on Dalry Road.
Police Scotland have since confirmed reports of two break-ins that night at different properties just a few streets apart.
A force spokesperson said: "Around 3.05am on Thursday, November 23, 2023, we were made aware of a break-in at a property on Birch Terrace in Ardrossan.
"Around 3.35am on Thursday, November 23, 2023, we were made aware of a break-in at a property on Seafield Court in Ardrossan.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and ongoing."
Cops say they also received a further report of a "person acting suspiciously" in nearby School Place around the same time.
Anyone with information about any of the incidents can pass it on by calling Police Scotland on 101.
Information can also be supplied anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
