Plans have been submitted to transform an empty beach gift shop into a food takeaway on the Isle of Arran.
Alexander Campbell, the applicant for the Boat House in Brodick, has applied for planning permission to repurpose the business into a food takeaway.
The wooden building was most recently used to sell beach novelty items and as a base for putting green admissions.
If given the green light, it would see the business sell hot and cold breakfast and lunch items, freshly baked treats, a varied coffee menu, Arran Dairies ice cream and milkshakes.
Other food items on the proposed menu include 'create your own loaded fries', homemade soup, stacked steak burgers, toasted sandwiches and filled paninis.
The proposed hours of operation would be Monday to Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
A supporting statement, which can be viewed publicly on the local authority's website, reads: "The food will all be made to order and served in practical eco-friendly takeaway packaging.
"The boathouse is situated on the edge of Arrans busiest tourist beach and on the Arran coastal way.
"There is a free public car park on the doorstep for those customers who do not arrive by foot. This is also ideal for deliveries.
"The wrap-around deck will have benches for locals and tourists alike to enjoy their snacks and seats indoors for the days it rains.
"We will construct a wooden bin shed attached to the side of the property to preserve the natural look of the area."
The full planning application can be found on North Ayrshire Council's planning portal with reference 23/00929/PP.
