Fire crews called to blaze at derelict building in Ardeer

Four appliances have been sent to tackle the fire which has taken hold at a derelict building in the area.

The emergency service was alerted of the incident shortly after 4pm on Tuesday, February 22, with no casualties reported at the time of writing.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 4.12pm on Thursday, February 22, to reports of a fire at Ardeer industrial estate, Stevenston in North Ayrshire.

“Operations Control immediately mobilised four appliances to the scene where firefighters are continuing to extinguish a derelict building fire.

“Crews remain on scene to make the area safe, and no casualties have been reported.”
