THE new owner of a West Kilbride hotel has announced a unique change for guests visiting the business.

While the Seamill House Hotel on Ardrossan Road has always had a dog friendly area, this has never extended beyond the venue's Dunes Bar.

However, in an update provided by the new team earlier this week, they confirmed that furry friends will now be welcome to stay overnight.

The hotel closed suddenly at the end of January with the loss of around 30 jobs - shocking both staff, who were told they'd only receive part of the wages they were due, and past and present-day customers.

But it reopened, equally unexpectedly, on Saturday, February 18 - with the news only announced the previous day.

One of the hotel's nine rooms has now officially been made dog friendly, for an additional charge of £20.

Included within this offer will be a dog bowl, doggy mat, towel and little treat for those fluffy companions.

At present, the room can only be booked directly via the hotel who can be contacted on 01294 823000.

The remainder of the update provided by the new owner confirmed that all rooms within the hotel were once again open for business.

This was not initially the case when the new owners took over.

To celebrate the rooms being back in use, reduced rates are being offered for the remainder of this month.

While there was also some good news for sports fans with the venue confirming that Sky Sports is back up and running within their bar area "to meet all your sporting needs".
