Beith Community Development Trust have announced a free safeguarding workshop next week.

The plan is to improve the safety of local children and provide community members with in-depth knowledge and practical skills at the event on Thursday, March 28 in the Studio at Geilsland.

A Trust spokesperson said: "Keeping children safe within our community is everyone’s job, and we want to make these skills and knowledge available to anyone interested.

"This workshop is aimed at anyone in our community who works with children, has children of their own, or just wants to learn how to spot warning signs and the appropriate actions to take."

Leading the session is Caron McLean, former Head of Protection at the University of Strathclyde.

Boasting over four decades of residency in Beith and a career dedicated to child and adult protection across various Scottish localities, Caron will bring her unique expertise and insights to the course.

The session, designed to facilitate an informal and inclusive learning space, invites anyone with a desire to learn, and be part of a safer community, to register their free space at this workshop on on the Trust website.

Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the evening, which will open at 6.30pm, starting at 7pm sharp. in the Studio, Geilsland Estate, Beith, KA15 2BY
