Almost 160 pupils from six local primary schools took part in a P7 Rugby Festival at the Ardrossan Accies club in May 2014. Youngsters from Stanley, Dykesmains, Caledonia, Mayfield, West Kilbride and Kelburn primaries enjoyed the day.
An Ardrossan great-great gran got on her bike for her 97th birthday in May 2014. When Julia Paterson’s her grandaughter Maria and her husband George Kidd decided to purchase a ‘Buddy Bike' she just had to have a shot. You can see Julia with her great-great grandaughter Ami, 8.
TASS Thistle's under 13 and under 15 girls' teams held a fundraising race night at the Ardrossan Masonic Club in May 2014, raising an impressive £661.
Community Windpower Ltd (CWL), who own and operate the Dalry and Millour Hill Community Wind Farms, handed over an amazing cheque for £12,000 to the North Ayrshire Foodbank in 2014.
North Ayrshire Council’s catering team were celebrating after winning a national Team of the Year award in May 2014. The title was awarded at the prestigious Cost Sector Catering Awards Dinner which recognises excellence throughout the public sector.
The International Historical, Cultural and Geographical Agency’s International Concert and Bonny Lesley Ball at St John’s Church, Stevenston, was a great success in 2014. Members of Scotland’s Thai, Filipino, Irish, Hawaiian and Indian communities came dressed in traditional costume for the popular annual event then in its 10th year.
