Police are trying to trace a 36-year-old man missing from Stevenston since this morning.

George Kearney was last seen near to B&Q at Hawkhill Retail Park at around 6am on Saturday, August 20.

He is described as white, 5ft 8 in height, of medium build, with very short/balding hair. It’s believed he was wearing a blue t-shirt.

Extensive enquiries have been undertaken by officers to trace George, however attempts to locate him have so far proved unsuccessful.

George has recently been dealing with some personal issues and his family is extremely concerned for him and just want him back safe and well.

Sergeant David Hutchison said: “George enjoys fishing and often visits local fishing areas, such as the Caaf Reservoir in Dalry, Haylie Brae in Largs and Mill Glen in Ardrossan. We are also linking in with George’s friends in the hope that we can find out additional detail on where he may have gone. If anyone has any information or has seen George, please contact police. His family just want to know he is ok.”

Anyone with any information or knowledge about George’s whereabouts is asked to contact officers at Saltcoats Police Office on 101.
