ALMOST 800,000 people and 200,000 cars travelled on the Ardrossan-Brodick route last year making the service the busiest passenger and car route within CalMac’s network.
Between January 1 and December 31 2015, the service carried 761,948 passengers, an increase of 46,900 from the same period the year before.
The number of cars between January 1 and December 31 last year also increased from the previous year, with 189,861 cars compared to 139,656.
The service had 4,708 scheduled sailings in 2015, with a reliability and punctuality rate of over 99 per cent.
The majority of cancelled sailings were due to the weather.
