A NEW book featuring the wild beauty of Arran came out this week.

Wild Guide to Scotland is the first guide to chart Scotland’s best wild places, including hidden glens, lost ruins, untrodden peaks, secret beaches and wild swimming waterfalls.

Compiled by a trio of young Scottish photographer-explorers – Kimberley Grant, Richard Gaston and David Cooper – it builds on a decade of research and combines sensational imagery with details of over 750 places, including grid references and directions.

The guide also includes details of the remote inns, and traditional places for local food and sustenance. Bothies and cave shelters, wild camping and luxury hideaways are also covered for those planning a longer adventure.

The section on Arran suggests the best places on the island to picnic, meditate, camp, bathe, lunch and more.
