ARRAN RNLI came to the rescue of an injured cyclist on Tuesday, July 25.
The crew were called at 10.05am to aid a cyclist with multiple reported injuries.
Arran RNLI inshore lifeboat Rachel Hedderwick launched at 10.25am and made their way to Laggan Cottage on the north east coast of Arran. When they arrived on scene the lifeboat crew assessed the casualty suspecting they had both a broken ankle and dislocated elbow along with shoulder injuries.
After making the casualty as comfortable as possible and securing them in the lifeboat’s basket stretcher the casualty was then evacuated by lifeboat to the Lochranza pontoon to meet the waiting ambulance crew.
It was the fourth time the crew had been paged in a single week.
