THE official opening of the £30 million Brodick Ferry Terminal is due to take place tomorrow (Thursday, April 12).
The new terminal has been in operation for several weeks, but the official opening has had to be put off twice following the deaths of prominent Arran aristocrats.
Tomorrow’s opening ceremony will be led by Cabinet Secretary for Finance andthe Constitution Derek Mackay MSP with Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) chief executive Kevin Hobbs.
The ceremony will take place at the new terminal building, starting at 11.10am, after the 11.05am ferry to Ardrossan departs the terminal.
The local community and those with an interest in ferries and harbours are invited to the terminal to attend the event.
CMAL’s Head of Civil Engineering, Ramsay Muirhead said: “This is a hugely significant project for our team and we are delighted to reach the official opening of the new terminal. “The local community and visitors to the island will benefit from an improved passenger experience and greater operational flexibility. We hope as many people as possible can join us at the opening.”
