ARRAN Mountain Rescue Team completed a stretcher push around the island to raise funds and celebrate their 50th anniversary recently.
The team pushed through the night starting from the Ormidale Sports Pavilion at 4pm on the Friday finishing with a great welcome at the annual Brodick Highland Games on the Saturday completing the madcap 56 mile route in a little over 15 hours.
AMRT volunteer Kirstie Smith said: “There was some great support along the way with people coming out to cheer us on through different villages and kindly leaving donations.
“It was a great team effort.
"Thanks to the general public for their support and donations throughout the 56 miles.” Team members took it in turn like a relay, with two pushing the stretcher whilst another drove the team Land Rover behind acting as a support crew.
Another team was responsible for shuttling the stretcher pushers back to their vehicles on completion of their leg.
In all the team managed to collect £400.
