ON Friday, February 26, Dalry Bowling Club held its 54th Burns Supper which was attended by just under 70 guests and speakers.

President Cyril Owen extended a warm welcome to everyone. Chairperson Alister Sim addressed the haggis which had been piped in by Piper William and “ carried aloft” by Club Chairperson Anne Marie Finnigan.

Alister delivered The Selkirk Grace before the traditional meal was served by the ladies of the Club.

The company were entertained by Linda McPherson, Tom McDermott and James Dippie who played a selection of tunes and songs. “The Immortal Memory” performed by well-known Burnsonian Norman McFarlane was both informative and entertaining. Roddie McGinty proposed “A Toast to the Lassies” which in turn was replied to by Myra Sim.

Long-time welcome guest Roddie McGinty proposed a toast to Dalry Bowling Club and in reply President Cyril thanked chairperson Alister for his assistance in organising the event .
