BEITH Primary School held an event this week in the build-up to the first-ever Scottish Junior Cup final appearance for Beith Juniors this weekend.
Dubbed ‘500 miles, 500 goals’, each pupil in the school was tasked with running a mile and scoring a goal, all whilst wearing the famous black and white colours of ‘The Mighty’ as they are known to their faithful supporters.
Organised by Colin Hunter, with the help of Mrs Kennedy, the pupils did so well that they surpassed their target.
And they even got to meet some Beith players and wished them all good luck for the final this Sunday against Pollok at Rugby Park in Kilmarnock.
Colin said: “The whole school and town are proud of the players for getting to the final and will still be proud whatever the result.
“We are sure they can get the result they deserve.”
Thanks on the day go to Ewan Jamieson of Active Schools and Mrs Kennedy and all the staff at Beith Primary as well as the Garnock Academy third year pupils who helped out too.
Best wishes to the Mighty Beith for the final.
