A NORTH Ayrshire councillor has been left red faced after she shared a missing persons appeal - for Rangers manager Mark Warburton.

Good natured SNP representative Anthea Dickson, who serves the ward of Kilbirnie and Beith, retweeted a tweet on Thursday which read: “Missing Person Appeal: Mark hasn’t been seen since 4.55pm on 21.05.16. Please help find him. Just a simple RT would do.”

Unbeknown to the councillor, tweets have been doing the rounds due to the lack of public appearances since last month’s Scottish Cup Final defeat at the hands on Hibernian.

The Rangers boss has come in for stick from fans of rival clubs and the appeal, which has gained almost 300 retweets on Twitter, came from Hibs fan Josh McGinn, who seems to be revelling in the fact that his side broke their 144-year Scottish Cup hoodoo to lift the trophy.

Cllr Dickson said: “Any RTs I do that are seeking missing persons is for the good intent that these people are located asap. Their family and friends are concerned.

“It is a shame spoof accounts like that can deceive but not everyone is aware of the ‘in joke’.”
